What is mining fleet management software?
Mining fleet management software tracks the vehicles and machines working at a mine, counts the trips they make, records diesel and engine hours, and stores the trip history that mineral transport rules are checked against. It is often called a mining vehicle tracking system as well. In Fleet Scanner the same platform also handles service schedules, tyres, spare parts and document renewals for the whole fleet.
Will it work where there is no mobile network?
Yes. A GPS device keeps recording position while it is out of coverage and stores those points inside itself. When the vehicle comes back into a signal area, the stored data uploads and the trip fills in. You see the full route afterwards rather than a broken line, which matters in deep pits and on remote haul roads.
Can it count trips and match them with the weighbridge?
Yes. You mark the loading point, the weighbridge and the delivery point as zones. Each run between them is counted as one trip with its own timings, so the software's count can be placed next to your weighbridge slips for the same day and any gap becomes easy to spot.
How does it help with transit pass and royalty records?
It keeps the trip evidence those records rest on: when the vehicle left the lease, which road it took, where it stopped and when it reached the delivery point, all exportable by mine and by date. Fleet Scanner does not issue transit passes or calculate statutory dues. Those stay with the state portal and your accounts team.
Can it detect diesel theft at a remote site?
It gives you the evidence to act on. Every bowser fill is logged against a machine, and where a fuel level sensor is fitted, a sudden drop while the vehicle is stationary raises an alert. Even without a sensor, litres compared against distance run or hours worked will show which machine has moved away from its usual pattern.
Does it track excavators and machines that stay inside the pit?
Yes. Excavators, loaders, dozers, drills, cranes and DG sets sit in the same asset list as road vehicles. For machines that do not travel, the useful numbers are engine hours, idle time and location inside the lease rather than distance, and service intervals can be set by hours instead of kilometres.
What happens if someone tampers with the GPS device?
A unit that loses power, stops reporting mid trip or goes silent for an unusual length of time raises an alert and is recorded in the tamper log. For any mining vehicle tracking system, ruggedised trackers rated for dust and vibration are worth specifying, since ordinary units struggle on haul roads.
