How to use the address to lat long

  1. Type an address, landmark, or place with its city.
  2. Pick the right match from the list.
  3. Copy the coordinates, or open them on the map.

Why fleets need exact coordinates for every address

Geofences, delivery points and customer sites all work on coordinates, not addresses. If a warehouse is saved 300 metres off, arrival alerts fire late and proof-of-delivery checks fail. Converting the address to lat long once, and saving it, avoids that.

This converter searches OpenStreetMap and shows up to five matches, so you can choose the right "Sector 18" or "MG Road" instead of the first one a search engine guesses.

Address to Lat Long FAQs

How do I find the latitude and longitude of an address?

Type the address with its city or ZIP / postcode, press Find coordinates, and pick the correct match. The latitude and longitude appear with the point on the map, ready to copy.

How accurate are the coordinates?

For named buildings and landmarks they are usually exact. For a long road or a large area, the centre point is returned, so check the pin on the map and drag your geofence to the exact gate if needed.

Can I use these coordinates for a geofence?

Yes. Copy the latitude and longitude into your fleet software when you create a geofence around a depot, customer or toll plaza.

Why did my address return no result?

Very new developments or informal addresses may not be mapped yet. Try a nearby landmark, the neighbourhood name, or the ZIP / postcode with the city.
